The Sandlot


The Sandlot takes place in the summer of 1962 and follows Scotty Smalls after he moved to a new town with his mother and stepdad. Smalls must now find new friends and learn to play baseball so that he can keep up with the new lingo of this strange sport and fit in with his peers.

  • Group Cohesion: This is one of the main themes of the movie, as you can see the cohesiveness of the group be disrupted by a new kid who doesn't know how to play baseball, and then built back up as Smalls is accepted into the group.
